Dr. Hong Chen received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University in 2005. From 2005 to 2007, she worked at the Institute of Microelectronics in Tsinghua University (IMETU) as a post-doctoral fellow. Since 2007, she has been working with School of Integrated Circuits in Tsinghua University, and became a full professor in 2022. From Febuary to June in 2006, she worked at the Medical Center at Nebraska University for the design of monitoring systems during TKR/THR surgery. She has been a visiting scholar in Gatech Tech from March 2016 to April 2017. Her research interests include bio-inspired on-chip learning asynchronous neuromorphic circuits, biomedical prosthetic circuits and systems and so on. She has published more than 110 journal and conference papers, and holds 1 U.S patent and 32 Chinese patents.

Dr. Chen had won many awards including the Best Demo Award at ISCAS 2013, the Second Award for science and technology invention of China Electronics Society in 2017, National Second Award for teaching achievement in 2016, Excellent Instructor Award of National College Students IC Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in 2018, First prize of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award in 2020, Best Paper Nominee at ASYNC2021 and etc. As a principle investigator, she kicked off a company with her research of monitoring systems for TKR/THR in 2014.

Dr. Chen is a Senior Member of IEEE. She is member of IEEE SSCS, CASS, and EMBS. She is current the Associate Editor of IEEE transactions on Biomedical Circuits and systems, Guest Editor of Tsinghua Science and Technology, Technical Program Committees member of The IEEE International Symposium on Asynchronous Circuits and Systems (ASYNC) and IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), and the general chair of IEEE ASYNC 2023.
