Description

It is with great pleasure that I report that thanks to the support of the IEEE CAS society by means of its Seasonal Schools in Circuits and Systems program, the Tutorial on Analog Circuit Design using CAD tools was successfully held in Costa Rica on 7 November and 8 November 2016, in parallel with the activities of the CAS technical track at Central America´s and Panama´s IEEE conference “CONCAPAN”.

As planned the hands-on tutorial took place in the same four-star hotel as the main IEEE conference, near to the airport and industrial parks in the San José area (Costa Rica), and included the use of Synopsys tools by the sponsorship of Costa Rica´s Institute of Technology and the support of experts from Synopsys.

About 20 people including industry (representing companies like Intel, Synopsys, and Boston Scientifics), academia, and students participated in the IEEE CAS Seasonal School.

The tutorial not only helped advanced students as well as young professionals to improve their skills in analog circuit design, but it also served to improve the visibility of the CAS Society in Costa Rica and in the R9 Region.
