Dear IEEE JETCAS Readers,

The IEEE Journal on Emerging and Selected Topics in Circuits and Systems (JETCAS) proudly published its 2019 December issue to present recent technical advances in circuits and systems, ranging from cloud servers to edge devices and from system level to circuit level, to support the emerging artificial intelligent (AI) algorithms and applications. This issue features some of the highlights of the best papers from the 1st IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Circuits and Systems (AICAS 2019), which was held in Hsinchu, Taiwan, on March 18–20, 2019. A total of 13 extended papers, which provide in-depth materials beyond their conference versions, are selected for publication, covering the key areas of (1) hardware accelerators for AI, (2) medical AI systems and applications, (3) neuromorphic processors, (4) deep learning algorithms and architectures, and (5) low precision neural networks. There is more for you to delve into. We hope you enjoy the contents of this special issue.

Last but not least, we look forward to your contribution to the 2020 December issue dedicated to AICAS 2020 in Genova, Italy, on March 23–25, 2020. For more information, please visit http://www.aicas2020.eu/.
